PACKAGING EXAMPLES

This honey package is very innovative in it’s display, it takes a step in the opposite direction of the typical glass or plastic jar, and is a container made of beeswax. What’s even better, once you’ve used up all the product, you can flip the container over and reveal a wick on the bottom. You then burn down the package, making it completely waste free. With packaging that goes against the expected design outcome and  also considers of the environment you only add incentives on for a customer to buy your product.

Modern, sleek, and simple designs stand out. Similar to Basik’s packaging design, I have used clean lines, simple colors, and sans serif fonts to achieve a modern look. This packaging took a very modern approach, and made it even more modern by making it gender neutral. It doesn’t lean one way or the other, and draws instant attention from viewers who are curious about who the product is for. This was needed with my uni-sex audience.

Packaging costs you money, plain and simple. If you don’t need an excess of packaging, don’t use it. These music cords are packaged very simply, yet still effectively. The paper wrap is designed beautifully, with bright pops of gold on black, and the colors correlate with the colors of the products.

Our packaging also attempts to limit the amount of resources used. A lot of clothing packaging uses two sets of packaging. The outer plastic packaging, and an extra plastic casing to put the garments in. We eliminate this process by using bubble wrap that is attached to the packaging. This saves plastic and money.

Our colour scheme correlates with the colour scheme for Our House.

My packaging thinks outside the box. Or in some cases, in it. I have attempted to break conventions of what my product is ‘supposed’ to come in. Similar to this water bottle. Water typically comes in a plastic bottle. But this water comes in a cardboard box. it’s still just water, but it’s different than anything else on the market, and it’s sure to grab your attention. I have attempted to replicate this, by using paper instead of plastic. I do not know of any clothing brand that ships their products in paper envelopes. By doing so, we stand out from competition by offering something fresh and innovative.
