STUDY TASK 06 - BOOK DEFINITION

Fragments d'un voyage on Editorial Design Served - created via https://pinthemall.net:

What is a Book?

Subtly can add a lot to a book in all design decisions. There are a blend of many aspects, that if ordered correctly can come to collate and produce a collaboration of design in one book. The publication above perfectly demonstrates my point. Thinking out of the box and collating a range of different stocks and prints to produce a piece that transcends a certain feng shui to its concept. It is subtle in its approach, the japanese stitching is something I would like to experiment with in my publication.

Notter + Vigne - F/W12 Mountain men:

This piece is a perfect example of having a near perfect method of figure and ground. Simple in its approach but uses an appropriate colour palette selection.

Using a good aesthetic throughout the book design process can create a nice piece of design. Using tracing paper as a form of mixed mediums. Another example of good stock selection.

Type and colour used very well here, focusing more in depth into paper selection and the actual printing method.

Gallery of pins created with pin them all : multiple images and text pins - Pin Them All:

This is a perfect combination of colour, shape, form, figure and ground. A loud representation but uses all the parts well to create a piece with fluidity, and different ranges of type and sizes, blending opacity well with the actual main content.
