There were 3 personalised grids adopted for achieving a typographical balance throughout the design. One was to achieve balance for the front cover. Another was used to link the spine, front and back cover. The third was used to align the type in the title. As shown on the left, the authors alignment, fits to the “from the big bang” etc. “The phenomenal...” fits to the width of the title. This grid creates a sharper, more ordered design. Aligning elements allows them to create a visual connection with each other. It tightens the design and eliminates the haphazard, messy effect which comes when items are placed randomly.
